  Activities and Societies: Staff and Postgraduate Social Committee My research was entitled Novel Crease and Wash-Resistant Electrically Conductive Inks for SMART Textile Applications. The project involved the synthesis and application of novel and commercially available electrically conductive polymers to textile substrates to understand and improve their crease and wash resistance.

  Amongst the core modules of Physical, Inorganic, Organic and Analytical Chemistry, I undertook modules in Chemical Engineering to understand topics including reactor design and fluid flow.My final year project was to investigate the discolouration observed in compacted samples of micro crystalline cellulose (MCC) in unusual shapes. These shapes were emphasised analogues of the impact of embossing complex patterns into pharmaceutical tablets. The discolouration was a symptom of dramatic temperature increases due to the flow of the MCC during compaction. This project included analysis with methods including FTIR, HPLC-MS and extensive use of AFM and SEM. Show less
