I was especially concerned, and tasked, with developing and presenting courses on effective and creative thinking, reading/listening, writing/speaking, and debate skills. The focus was on developing the critical thinking and communication skills for these students, to enable them to function better in the larger world. Traditional education focuses on rote memorization and emulation of models.
