    • FSU Student Conduct and Community Hearing Standards Panel

      Jan 2022 - May 2023

As the chairman of the board, I was responsible for reading the script. The script is what we read to ensure that the student understands what the process is about and is a critical part of the process. The script is also what guides the hearing from opening statements from the university, from our board, from the student, into our line of questioning about the incident (we receive an incident report from Tallahassee Police Department or the FSU Police Department) and then into closing remarks from both parties of the hearing. Then, I guide the board in our deliberation process by asking the board members how they feel afterwards and then calling for a vote. If the vote is not unanimous we talk it through and come to a decision as a board. Then we discuss outcomes for the student. Afterwards, I stay later with our advisor to create the rationale, which explains the reasoning of the board in selecting the outcomes and finding of responsible or not responsible. Show less The Student Conduct Board meets weekly to hear cases regarding students at FSU who have allegedly been found in violation of the Student Conduct Code. We hold a hearing with students to gain a more complete understanding of what happened. We cross reference police reports as well as students’ personal testimonies and responses to our questions in the hearing to establish a finding of responsible or not responsible, as well as propose specific outcomes for the student to ensure that they have learned and grown from the experience. As a member of the board, I played a role in deliberation. We collectively decided whether or not a student would be found 'responsible' or 'not responsible' and then brainstormed 'outcomes' which are intended to encourage self-reflection and establish a plan for change in students who were found responsible. • Women Student Union at Florida State University

      Jan 2022 - Dec 2024

The Women Student Union is one of the seven Identity-Based SGA Agencies on FSU's campus. Of all the Agencies, the Women Student Union has the largest constituency and the largest membership roster on Nole Central with over 600 active members and over 1,000 attendees at our events this year, and under my leadership so far has achieved a 266% increase in attendance since last year, and has held significantly more events. The board has expanded, I added 4 new positions on my executive board to account for my goals for the Agency. During my time as Executive Director of the Women Student Union, I have learned a significant amount about team leadership, project management, event planning, and managing a team of other leaders. I have also learned a substantial amount of information regarding minute keeping, budgeting, requesting funding, working with Student Government, reading policy, and more. I think that this experience is akin to working as a project manager of a business, since many aspects overlap. I think that my experience with WSU has given me the skills necessary to be a great leader in my chosen profession. Show less I created a committee of women to aid me in planning and carrying out 18 events during the month of March. During 2022 Women's History Month, the WSU held 12 events. I held more events during our celebratory month programming than the Agency did over the course of the entire year. I facilitated connections between the executive board members and my committee members in order for them to collaborate more effectively. I held several bonding retreats with my committee and I provided a feedback form for them to fill out after our meetings regarding how they were feeling, how I could aid them best, and how I could improve. Of the committee members who were not graduating, only 1 of the 7 did not receive a position on the executive board for next year. With over 40 applicants, this was a significant achievement. I poured a lot into them regarding the training of our mission and purpose as an agency, and I feel like I played a significant role as a mentor for them which caused them to come back the next year Show less

    • Freshman Leadership Institute

      May 2022 - Dec 2022
      Facilitator of Operations

I was involved with the everyday operation of the institute and our workshop. I specifically organized some of the largest events for our cohort, including the mental health hunt, which was a partnership with the FSU counseling center that toured the students around campus, and the RSO mixer, which brought over 50 clubs and SGA Affiliates into our space and allowed students the opportunity to learn, get involved, and network. I also invited some of the biggest names in SGA to panel, where I served as the moderator and asked our panelists meaningful and inspirational questions for the students before opening up the floor for questioning.I played a mentorship role in my role as a family group leader, which is a group mentor for the students in the program. I helped my family group to process and take in what was being said at their workshops and talk about anything with me. I have stayed in contact with them throughout their time here, have written them letters of recommendation, encouraged them to get involved, and have spoken about them to others in leadership as well. I tried to foster a welcoming and fun environment for my students to learn about professionalism and leadership. Show less
