  As a Police Lieutenant I had assignments in Patrol, Administration and Community Outreach. I initiated new programs and streamlined existing processes. I oversaw departmental hiring and training. I briefly managed parking administration. I overhauled the Business Services unit and updated the payroll process. I reported directly to the Chief for several years. I wrote departmental responses to community concerns and represented the department at community meetings. I oversaw departmental IT and our web & Social Media presence. As auxiliary duties, I managed the Tactical Team and the Firearms Training Program. I also taught a Criminal Justice course in the Chicano Studies Program at UC Berkeley.
