      • Project: Marão Tunnel Highway Concession - €425m / US$629• Principal Features: Execution of two cast in-situ reinforced and post-tensioned concrete double deck viaducts, one overpass, two underpasses and the structural reinforcement and widening of five existing highway structures.• Project: Grande Lisboa Highways Concession - €256m / US$366m• Principal Features: Execution of fourteen overpasses, eleven underpasses and three pedestrian passes, totalling twenty eight new highway/railway structures, as well as the structural reinforcement and widening of two existing passes and the demolition of another two ancient overpasses. Very strict rail rules and regulations were also applied given the interferences with live railway lines (West and Lisbon-Sintra, the busiest in the country). Construction methods covered cast in-situ reinforced and post-tensioned concrete deck, pre-cast concrete deck and composite steel and concrete deck erected by incremental launching. Building and management of a pre-cast yard to produce about 3, 8km of pre-cast/pre-stressed reinforced concrete beams. Construction of reinforced earth retaining walls, totaling a surface of 4800m2.• Project: Construction of the highway “IC13 - Alter do Chão / Portalegre” - €35m / US$50m• Principal Features: Execution of six bridges, ten overpasses and two underpasses totaling 885m of post-tensioned and reinforced concrete deck.• Project: Norte Highways Concession - €1570m / US$1978m• Principal Features: Execution of Bôco Riverside Viaduct and Torno River Viaduct with double concrete deck pre-cast system, including yard production of pre-stressed/pre-cast reinforced concrete beams.• Project: Construction of the highway “IC9 - Alburitel / Tomar (IC3) - €27m / US$32m• Principal Features: Execution of two bridges and four cast in-situ viaducts totaling 1350m of reinforced and post-tensioned concrete double deck, five overpasses and six underpasses Show less

      • Project: Dubai Water Canal - The canal is allowing navigation around Dubai, giving access to the most prestigious ancient and new districts, through modern water transport facilities, whilst simultaneously creating a new waterfront development.• Value: AED1.048m / US$285m • Promoter / Client: Dubai - Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)• Engineer: CH2M Hill (Halcrow) / Parsons• Main Contractor: Six Construct (Besix Group)• Principal Features: The scope comprises the construction of a 3.2km long and +-100m wide waterway, including the development of a marina within a 1.5km new peninsula reclaimed in the sea. The banks side of the canal are built with pre-cast mass concrete blocks and a 720m long diaphragm wall on the south side forming quay walls. Three iconic pedestrian bridges are linking the two sides of the Canal at key locations. Show less • Project: Qatar Gabbro Terminal Expansion - To support the growing demand of aggregate cargo for Qatar´s infrastructure development ahead of FIFA World Cup 2022, the capacity of the bulk materials import terminal in the Port of Mesaieed required an increase to thirty million tonnes per annum. The project was delivered through an industrial EPC + Commissioning contract (FIDIC - Yellow Book) for the installation of a new four stream conveyor system to transport bulk aggregate materials from the existing shore cranes at berths 2 and 3 to six new movable stackers running along 6km of rails at QPMC stockyard. Truck discharge hoppers were also installed in the corridor area to receive material from Berth 1 and the barge facility. Oil&Gas industry rules and regulations were strictly followed provided the project was developed within QP/MIC restricted area.• Value: QAR1.200m / US$329m • Promoter / Client: Qatar Primary Materials Company (QPMC) / Qatar Petroleum (QP) / Mesaieed Industrial City (MIC)• Engineer: Aurecon• Main Contractor: Consortium Six Construct (Besix Group) / FLSmidth• Principal Features: Engineering, fabrication and erection of >10.500Ton of structural steel totalling 23km of conveyor bridges and hopper building, installation of >14.000Ton of mechanical equipment including 6km of rail system (8m gauge) supported by diam.1500mm piles and pre-cast concrete beams forming the stacker line bunds. Stockyard soil improvement with 1.300km of vertical drains and soil replacement by 1.1Mm3 of imported engineered fill. Design-build of two control buildings, two 33kV primary substations, five 11kV secondary substations, >11km of roads, drainage / waste water treatment and utilities.       • Project: Dubai Metro Route 2020 – The project involves the design and construction of a 15km long line, of which 11,8km of elevated metro line and 3,2km underground metro line - branching off the existing red line at the Nakheel Harbour & Tower station. The metro extension comprises seven stations, including an interchange at Nakheel Harbour and an iconic metro station at the World Expo 2020 site. • Value: AED10,6bn / US$2,8bn• Promoter / Client: Dubai - Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)• Engineer: Parsons / Systra• Main Contractor: Expolink Consortium (Alstom, ACCIONA and Gulermak)• Principal Features: This highly-complex project includes a 3,2km tunnel perforated by a tunnel boring machine (TBM), 1,2km of open-cut route and 11,8km of elevated viaduct metro line. The viaduct substructure comprises 851 piles, 372 cast in situ piers, 47 cast in situ pier caps, 33 cast in situ portals and 259 precast pier caps produced in the project pre-cast yard, along with 3174 deck precast segments. The superstructure segments are erected with four launching gantries (9,1km), balanced cantilever method (lifting frames and/or crane) at seven locations (756m) and falsework (1,2km), whereas about 680m of deck are cast in-situ. The connection with the existing red line requires partial demolition of the ancient viaduct and further construction of a combined cast in-situ structure (tie-in). Show less
