  I was sailing as 2nd Engineer on the HSC Express. This is a 91m water jet propulsion catamaran, driven by 4 CAT 3618 main engines. As the engineering department was small there was a great deal of responsibility. Not only was I responsible for watch keeping, I carried out planned and breakdown maintenance, bunkers and stock control/ordering. The Express was a seasonal service, March to October, and during the off season we laid up to carry out all our major overhauls. Prior to the Express I was 3rd engineer on the European Highlander. A Ro Pax vessel with 4 Wartsila V12 380mm bore main engines, driving Kamewa CPP. I was 1 of the 2 watch keeping 3rd engineers responsible for the maintenance of the marine plant. As before I carried out planned and unplanned repairs and overhauls

  Over 3 years sailing as 2nd engineer on M.V. Sputnik, a converted anchor handler, now a 60 meter shadow yacht. Driven by 2 CAT 3616 main engines, with CAT 3408 generators. During this time we underwent a further modification period and a classification society 5 year special survey. The vessel was also brought up to ABS ACCU accreditation
