  As an intern, I was exposed to a news channel for the first time. I shadowed daily reporters and participated in preparing news reports during my stint at the channel. I also got a chance to visit the press club meetings and prepare mock news reports. I observed the news division - news production, programming and other aspects of traditional visual media up-close during my internship.

  As an intern with IJM Chennai, I assisted the strategic development team for creating awareness on bonded labour and human trafficking. I also accompanied the team lead for field visits and meetings with government partners. As a part of my internship, I also prepared a detailed report on bonded labour and human trafficking, earning appreciation from my team lead.

  Criminology Intern

  As a Criminology intern, I was able to observe the operations and functioning of a police station. I also got a chance to accompany the patrolling team. It helped me better understand the challenges of policing and the maintenance of law and order. I was also made familiar with citizen's rights.

  As the Project Coordinator, I was responsible for the overall coordination of the Research Project and preparing periodic reports. I organized lectures, field visits, workshops and examinations for multiple courses and training programs for stakeholders like Tamil Nadu Police Academy, Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy and Department of Social Defence (Government of Tamil Nadu). I also led the research time for studies based on children in conflict with the law. I worked in tandem with the research team, the Department of Social Defence and UNICEF Chennai for the successful completion of Phase II and III of the research project. I liaised with the research team, university administration, collaborators and the funding agency to ensure smooth project management. I organized classes, field visits and internships for students of the university. I coordinated examinations and evaluations for Diploma courses and training programs provided by the university.
