I had the pleasure of creating the UWM Outdoor Pursuits program from the ground up. I managed every aspect of the program from gear purchasing/tracking/maintenance, curriculum and program development, hiring, training, marketing and administration. The program provided approximately 40 half-day to 8 day outdoor trips per year related to: climbing, whitewater and flatwater paddling, caving, backpacking, cross-country skiing, paddleboarding and paddleboard yoga. The program also provided educational clinics, team development programming, bike maintenance, equipment rentals and special events. Show less

I spent my time at Evoke working in a staff team of field instructors and therapists that provided a safe environment for adolescents and young adults to learn healthy life skills, coping mechanisms, respectful ways to interact with others and to understand their own self-worth. The program is conducted in the desert of southwest Utah and uses backpacking and campcraft as a way to facilitate development of these competencies.
