  Farwest Steel Corp's Eugene facility is a full service distribution and metal processing super center with a breath of technical expertise and mechanical capacity unmatched in the Pacific Northwest. We began to build and develop a Scheduling and Planning department over the past three years at Farwest to utilize the full capabilities of the Farwest infrastructure not only here in Eugene but the entire West Coast. Here are some of my current duties:-Schedule the daily machine production on a shift by shift basis for all four burning machines, two precision lasers, six press brakes and a welding and fabrication team exceeding 45 members. We run three shifts with nearly 200 employees in the Eugene branch. -Data analysis on daily output on all pieces of equipment as well as the future customer demand to project needs such as additional overtime shifts, man power increases or decreases and projected lead times to market for our sales team. -Implementing Lean culture and Lean ideas to the Farwest Steel Eugene shop. I have been selected to learn and help grow the Lean culture in the Farwest Eugene shop. Value Stream Mapping, 5S opportunities and Queue elimination are some of the projects we have began to work on this year. -Manage and release all customer products placed on our ESA/Kanban system to ensure timely and efficient products to our targeted and partnered customers. -Other daily skills and tasks included: Vendor management and relations, coordination with other departments like shipping on large projects, order status for all jobs in the Eugene facility, Oracle Superuser for Farwest Steel and On time delivery reporting and coding for the branch manager Show less -Procured and sourced all freight for the Farwest Steel Eugene fabrication branch for five years. Annual budget was nearly $2 million annually. -Negotiated freight rates from several vendors not only on a case by case basis but also long term service rate agreements for the branch and sometimes corporate wide. -Managed and ran the daily production schedule for the fabrication branch from 2010 to 2013. This was outside the shipping positions scope but lead me to my next position in the company. -Worked closely with other departments sucks as Quality Assurance, Certs and Packaging to ensure on time delivery and quality product to the customer on all daily shipments.
