Provided special support for students of color as they navigated adjusting to life at a predominantly white institution of higher education. Organized social events, mediated conflicts between residents, and acted as a liaison between students and campus social activism. Conducted workshops with the Brown Center for Students of Color on social injustice for the wider Providence community.

Interviewed LGBT Cambodians working in the formal sector to talk about coping mechanisms and strategies for success.Grant writing and project development for an initiative to combat LGBT employment discrimination and capacity building for unskilled marginalized LGBT individuals in Cambodia.       2019 Natural Hazards Research and Applications Workshop Student Paper Competition Winner Natural Hazards Workshop at the University of Colorado Boulder May 2019 Winner of Undergraduate Paper competition for a research paper called, Anti-Poor State Practices in Disaster Preparedness: Contextualizing the Eviction of Vitas Tenement Housing Project in Metro Manila, which examines the eviction of a public housing settlement in a Metro Manila slum for the sake of disaster preparedness. I argue that this eviction, which was done for ostensibly noble purposes, is but a new manifestation in Metro Manila’s longstanding negligent, hostile anti-poor state culture of urban poor eviction and failure to deliver on its promises for adequate affordable housing. The paper strives to look towards a disaster preparedness (in a world where this is increasingly necessary) that maintains sensitivity to the needs of the urban poor. Show less
