  Alachua Conservation Trust is a nonprofit regional land trust created to address the need for protecting critical natural lands from development and degradation in Florida. As a student intern, I coordinated ecological projects at locations in Alachua County such as Ardisia and Prickly Pear removal at Prairie Creek, Tropical Soda Apple removal at Tuscawilla Prairie in Micanopy, and herbaceous release of Long Leaf Pine trees and invasive species removal at Saarinen Preserve in Jonesville.   The Electronic Resources Unit manages University Library e-resources budgets for each department, curates thousands of serial subscriptions, and maintains access to over 1 million e-books in addition to hundreds of databases and online journals. My role in this unit gave me responsibility for many databases and invoices, as well as organizing and retaining access to electronic journals and articles.

I was in training to become an Agriculture Extension Agent specializing in rural aquaculture promotion.Training was terminated with mandatory evacuation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

  As program coordinator, I oversaw all aspects of operating a regional Rebuilding Together affiliate, from meeting with clients to develop scopes of work, to recruiting and leading community volunteers, managing inventory, coordinating logistics, implementing projects, completing critical home repairs, and collecting data to compile in program reports. I worked with a small team to increase capacity, efficiency, and quality of services to provide safe and healthy housing for members of our community.During my service with AmeriCorps, I developed and maintained working relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, gained valuable experience in nonprofit program coordination, and cultivated compassionate leadership abilities with service to vulnerable communities.   Rebuilding Together is a national nonprofit organization with the mission of repairing homes, revitalizing communities, rebuilding lives. Rebuilding Together North Central Florida (RTNCF) is a local affiliate dedicated to ensure safe housing and communities in Alachua and Levy County. This program is rooted in the community, working closely with supporters, stakeholders, and leaders to provide critical home repairs and accessibility modifications for our neighbors in need. As the Community Engagement Specialist, I serve as the primary facilitator and overseer of engagement regarding volunteer operations, events, and digital presence. My responsibilities are to sustain and develop signature Rebuilding events to enhance the brand recognition, reputation, and financial sustainability of the RTNCF organization and its programs. In addition, I assist with program development, recruitment, and supervision of the Repair Team, including interns, volunteers, and paid staff. I also maintain and build relationships with new and prospective donors, attend networking events, and assist with coordinating donation efforts of all types. As this organization grows into neighboring counties, I work directly with Rural Program Managers to develop programs and launch community engagement efforts in their area, and serve as a direct liaison between their branch and headquarters.Certification received: Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS). A designation program that teaches the technical, business management, and customer service skills essential for successful home modifications for aging-in-place programs. Show less
