      During my time at Ogilvy I’ve had the pleasure of working on some major projects for well-established clients. If I were to name one of my projects that I’m most proud of it is the launch of some new premium headphones. The brand in question was being overrun left and right by big newcomers and older established brands. They failed to notice the surging demand for premium consumer headphones and were on the brink of elimination. Once they were the market leader now a distant follower. The assignment: make sure that we survive. The Ogilvy strategy team re-invented the brand with a new distinctive positioning and way of communicating. Furthermore, we conducted a consumer journey analysis on which we determined the desired consumers behavior in each step and provide a list of barriers and drivers that would withhold the consumer from proceeding to the next phase in the journey.       At UM I work as a strategy consultant. The people working at this agency are known as smart rebels. People who dare to question the client and elevate work to the next level. As a strategist I consult some of the biggest clients. One of the strategies that I’m proud of is for a well-known FMCG brand. Despite being a big name in retail land, this brand has major challenges. Their biggest competitor, also a brand with high awareness and market share, has better shelf position in the major supermarkets. And due to their powerhouse of brands are able to enforce more weeks of promo. The solution is to always be considered in front of the shelf. To do this we must increase brand appeal. But in this category comms are very functional, all brands look the same there is little to no distinction. I opted for a lighthouse strategy, one where we would always stand out. But to do this we had to move away from the function comms and claim emotional uncharted territory. And with the help of some keen partners this was made possible.
