      Computer Technician

I started as an intern with the Hickory Public School System while still in college. After getting hired on full time, I spent the next ten years with my hands in every aspect of the technology department. This first technology job provided me the opportunity to gain a very holistic understanding of technology as I was asked to take on many responsibilities and wear many hats.I earned my Novel CNA and began maintaining ten Novel 3.12 servers at 10 separate sites. Later, I was part of the migration to 10 Microsoft 2003 domain controllers in a single WAN. As part of this migration, I created scripts which automated the configuration of computers based on school location, as well as scripting the creation of users accounts. My day to day activities included maintaining Microsoft desktops, installing networked applications, creating Active Directory user accounts, troubleshooting fiber connectivity in the network, and setting Cisco port configurations.Using PHP and SQL, I wrote and maintained an intranet site for the technology department to manage repair requests throughout the school system.* Active Directory 2003* Exchange 2003* Novel 3.12* Desktop Support* VBScript* HTML* PHP Show less

Since then, I have migrated our 2003 environment to a completely virtual Active Directory 2010 environment.I took over responsibility of the Citrix environment in 2007.
