  Research Engineer Intern

  I have experience in a design and production environment from a 4 month placement I held with the Ecuadorian Air Force. During this time I was the lead engineer in the design of a mini-UAV, performing aeronautical stability and structural analysis as well as modelling using SOLIDWORKS. I was also in charge of producing bills of materials and drawings for the manufacturing of prototypes. This position as engineering lead also helped me develop project engineering skills which I hope to keep developing throughout my career. Description: - Project life-cycle management of Mini-UAV (MUAV) prototype from the initial concept design to production. - Independently designed airframe using EXCEL and produced CAD model for manufacture using SOLIDWORKS. - Power requirement specification and aerodynamic stability analysis of MUAV using in-house software. - Received training on manufacturing processes involving carbon fibre and fibreglass composites. - MUAV successfully completed first flight using the aerodynamic design established during the placement.
