Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering - Dr. Stuart Strand's Lab- Used GC-FID and bioreactor extraction methods to test the air-purifying ability of a novel transgenic house plant.- Analyzed quantitative data using R, MATLAB, and Excel to refine the experiment procedure and construct a new linear regression model to adopt the new findings. Department of Bioengineering - Dr. Barry Lutz's Lab- Identified first-line anti-tuberculosis (TB) drug metabolites and key chemical reactions through a comprehensive literature review and market research to explore the current point-of-care tests (POCTs) for TB. - Designed and refined the wet lab experiment and drafted manuscripts based on the findings, aiming to innovate a new mobile TB treatment support tool to improve TB treatment adherence in Argentina. Mentee under Max Louzon, the director of MLS, learning about the lab experience and career path in the lab medicine field. Washington Public Interest Research GroupCoordinated with local legislators to communicate the issue and create support via petitions/social media to make sure Washington leaders commit to phasing out unnecessary single-use plastics and push for a statewide ban on foam products.
