  I began my career at Mercantile in their operations department entering trades. From there, I transferred to the trust department to become a Portfolio Assistant. During this time, I acquired my CFA charter and became a Portfolio Manager. I left Mercantile to join Hardesty Capital Management in 1999.

  I joined Hardesty Capital Management (now Tufton Capital Management), as a Portfolio Manager after about ten years at Mercantile Safe Deposit & Trust Company (now PNC). I became a partner/minority owner about halfway through my sixteen years at the firm. Shortly thereafter, I became the firm's Chief Investment Officer overseeing the internal research effort. In addition to these duties, I continued in my role as a Portfolio Manager.

  I joined Brown Advisory's Washington, DC office in 2015 as a Portfolio Manager. At Brown Advisory, we provide our clients with a team approach that strives to provide outstanding performance, advice and service. We build and manage diversified, balanced portfolios for our clients with the primary objective in mind to help them achieve their goals within the confines of their specific tolerance for risk.
