  In addition to my experience highlighted in the summary section above, at Bird & Bird I gained experience of alternative dispute resolution in commercial disputes, including structured negotiation / pre-action protocol meetings and mediations, and also experience of Ad hoc arbitration and the preliminary stages of ICC arbitration.I became very familiar with the use of technology in litigation, including for e-disclosure and electronic trial bundles. I also gained some experience of costs proceedings (both provisional and detailed assessment), and have some advocacy experience, having conducted a short CMC in multi-track proceedings in the County Court. I regularly presented seminars on a range of legal topics, with topics including the management of contract terminations, managing an international cyber incident, practical considerations for negotiating and terminating commercial contracts in "uncertain times” (in light of the Brexit referendum), the fundamentals of governing law and jurisdiction, and the effective management of the early stages of a dispute. I also authored or co-authored a range of articles and briefings, some of which are set out under the 'Publications' heading below. Somewhat unusually, I also undertook an in-person, contested aircraft repossession, without a Court Order whilst working at Bird & Bird. Show less
