      The Christchurch earthquakes damaged approximately 90% of homes across the region. I was responsible for monitoring and reporting on the recovery of Christchurch’s housing stock. I advised Ministers on the progress of residential repair and rebuild programme, identifying risks to progress, and collaborating across agencies to develop appropriate policy responses.

      I designed and led the New Zealand government’s Lessons and Legacy Programme, established to capture insights and experiences from the Canterbury Earthquakes. My team worked with businesses, public sector organisations, and communities to create a recovery legacy that shared insights with governments and aid organisations across the globe to inform responses to future disaster recovery efforts. I led the implementation of a monitoring and evaluation framework across all government departments for the regeneration of Christchurch, New Zealand following the Canterbury Earthquakes. My team was responsible for engaging with businesses, organisations, and government departments to gather intelligence on progress across all housing, transport, education, employment, health, and the broader economy.

      I drive the UK's international strategy on quantum technologies, leading high-level engagement with global partners to forge impactful collaborations that will help deliver our National Quantum Missions. I also oversee the government's regulatory approach to quantum, leveraging the UK's soft power to shape an international landscape that supports ethical and sustainable advancements in quantum technologies. The National Space Strategy is the UK’s first combined civil-defence strategy for space. I formed a new strategy team that oversaw delivery of the Government’s ambitions for the space sector. Working hand-in-hand with the Ministry of Defence, my team was responsible for guiding Ministers through the difficult spending choices to build our national space capabilities and drive new investment into our leading space businesses.
