  My objective was to deliver an appropriate Business Continuity Management (BCM) capability for KCB Bank Group, ensuring critical business functions can be maintained, or restored in accordance with established timelines in the event of a material business disruption. Within the context of a matrix organization, responsible for developing and maintaining corporate wide business continuity program that addresses disaster recovery, business recovery and emergency response management. Also responsible for performing Risk Analysis for functional areas to identify points of vulnerability, single points of failure and identify risk avoidance and mitigation strategies. Plan and coordinate all business continuity technical and user training as well as develop, produce and update BCP/DR materials and documentation (Plans, procedures, call lists and test results). In addition develop status reports on departmental continuity plans and prepare management reports as necessary. Assist in crisis management in the event of a business disruption.I was a member of the BCM team whose main function was to oversee the BCM function on a day to day basis. I was also a member of the IT recovery team which is responsible for development of recovery support plans and infrastructure.
