As Cable Team Chief, I assisted in providing help desk support to a Brigade sized element of over 3000 users, both operationally deployed and in Garrison. I provided reliable secured voice and data connectivity and closed out over 500 trouble tickets to ensure consistent hardware and software support. I configured Cisco device (Network Switches and Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) phones), imaged workstations, and migrated Enterprise Email (EE). Considerable time was spent meeting Information Assurance (IA) compliance, provided reliable network and domain availability for users by utilizing features of Windows Server 2008 (Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and Group Pollicy Object (GPO)). Concurrently, I maintained eight secured Video TeleConference (VTC) suites to support over 200 VTCs for the Command and Staff video and voice calling with six subordinate commands and higher headquarters. As project lead for garrison network installation, I facilitated inter-agency planning and production between multiple post tenants to place over 50 temporary learning stations at non-connected locations to aid learning objectives for Warrant Officer Advanced Course. Show less Provided support for Battalion sized element to over 200 users and 300 workstations while occupying two enclaves of communication. Major responsibilities included; network troubleshooting, management, and domain services of AD DS, GPO, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), synchronization, Windows Deployment Services (WDS), Print and and File Sharing, and Image Development, and workstation imaging. Additionally, I incorporated the use and deployment of tactical radio equipment radio configuration of High Frequency (HF), Very High Frequency (VHF), Ultra High Frequency (UHF), and Satellite Communication (SATCOM) communications suites. I ensured the tactical radio equipment maintained a proper COMSEC fill to provide Secured Communication (SC) through Frequency Hopping (FH). Significant contributions were seen through two validation exercises. I established retransmission site support through the use of OE254s and COM201B antennas over several kilometers of expanded modulation coverage areas. This provided seven secured data paths to the Wide Area Network (WAN) secured framework and facilitated the LAN throughout the four week exercise. I utilized this framework to provide for data and voice connectivity throughout the three disperse command locations. Show less My duties included installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting OSP cable to provide voice and data connectivity to a Battalion sized element of 300 users. The proper installation was essential in creating an effective NAPP. The project plan highlighted the; OSP cable routing instructions, equipment descriptions, and potential safety hazards. The efforts of my team provided the Battalion; expeditious installation, reduced material waste, and decreased troubleshooting times. Additionally my team performed; PMCS procedure to ensure rapidly deployable High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMVW), Light Medium Tactical Vehicles (LMTV), Blue Force Trackers (BFT), OSP cables, and tactical radios (RT 1523C and RT 1694E) which led to it remaining fully mission capable. Our team received praise from the Battalion commander for our squads ability throughout the annual joint nation military command exercise, Ulchi Freedom Guardian '09 (UFG09). Among 16 company level elements, our squads expeditious effort provided the BBN with UFG09's first validation of secured data and voice paths. Show less
