  My internship in the Virology therapeutic area provided invaluable insight into the clinical sector of the pharmaceutical industry, specifically into clinical operations. I learnt a lot about the process and documents required for the planning and management of clinical trials. I was also given the opportunity to meet with other departments to get a full overview into clinical operations as well as to understand how they assist with the running of an efficient clinical trial. My primary responsibilities included assisting in the preparation of meeting materials such as meeting agendas & minutes, tracking & preparing study specific information utilising databases & spreadsheets and co-ordinating & filing study documents to the Trial Master File.
