      Student Teacher

During my senior year of college, I had two separate student teaching experiences. For my first 12 week session, I was placed in a fifth grade classroom at Olive B. Loss Elementary School. There, I created original and engaging lesson plans for every subject using Common Core Standards and Delaware Department of Education Standards. I also co-planned and co-taught lessons with teachers and paraprofessionals in all subject areas for a diverse class of 28 students in a suburban setting. I engaged students via whole group, small group, and differentiated instruction for lessons and activities for all types of learners, including English Language Learners and Special Education students. I integrated technology (SMART Board, PowerPoint) into lessons to foster student engagement and learning, developed and created interactive lesson boards and displays to challenge students’ thinking. My second placement was in a second grade autism inclusion classroom at Old State Elementary. Here, I progress monitored 5 students with IEPs, using goals and probes. I Instructed differentiated, small groups and individuals to improve student skills needed to succeed in regular education classroom. I taught communication and language skills to students with Autism using Verbal Behavior Therapy (VB), applied modifications and accommodations needed to complete regular classroom activities for special education students, and taught lessons on Zoom using the remote learning tools Seesaw, Schoology, Smarty Ants, Achieve 3000, DreamBox, Epic!, and Unique Learning System. I always strived for equity inside my classroom and believe all students are capable of a high level of success. Show less

      Sept 2020 - Nov 2020
      Lead Supervisor

Provide in-person support for virtual learning to a small group of K-6 students while supplementing their education during breaks with common core based activities. With this school year being difficult for families, DCDC Learning Pods has been a great success with our students by providing them one-on-one and group tutoring. It is an extraordinary place to build social, collaborative, and academic skills with students of like and unlike ages and abilities. While collaborating on opening this business, I designed a website and provided targeted marketing through social media to families in the Chester County, PA area with children in elementary and middle school. I created original and visually interesting graphics to support the targeted marketing. Show less
