My role is to investigate the understanding and quantification of precarious housing using machine learning and remotely sensed imagery. The production of indicators to monitor the 2030 Agenda depends on the availability and timeliness of timely and quality data. The use of traditional sources such as surveys and administrative records is not always sufficient, so the use of big data has become relevant. The research aims to investigate the use of big data as an alternative data source for the Sustainable Development Goals indicators. This initiative is part of the work plan of the United Nations Regional Center for Big Data. Show less
