      Program Director

Envisioned, founded, and enacted a successful two-prong solution to challenges in offering academic and cultural opportunities for Appalachian liberal arts college: 1.) innovative, non-sectarian, interdisciplinary living-learning residential Center, and 2.) large-scale public programming for college and community. o Pursued, developed, and extended stakeholder relationships: College President, Board of Trustees, donors, student government, and local and state community.o Secured significant endowment for facilities, program, and scholarships. Gained institutional support and designed the first living-learning residential community for honors students engaged with ‘life’s big questions,’ particularly the intersection of faith(s) and public policy. o Developed highly successful small-scale program, with weekly dinner conversation series with invited speakers for nine residential honors students. Closely mentored ~50 residential and scholarship honors students since 2015 with weekly meetings and domestic travel, engaging Fortune 100 CEOs, politicians, MDs, refugees, advocates, nonprofit and faith leaders, peacemakers, and scholars across disciplines. o Facilitated ~30+ large-scale public presentations and colloquia designed for college community (~1000+ people). Programs focused thematically (human rights, immigration, health and justice, women’s rights, etc.) with expert speakers, engaging disparate student groups, bringing campus and local community together to consider the common good. o Coordinated all aspects of Center: lecturers, marketing, catering, student life, etc. Show less
