  The "Box of Light" project, held from 2014 to 2016, researched the effectiveness in pinhole analog DIY projects as a didactic resource for photography classes. The project explored the importance of analog photography as an entrance to photography technique and the visual language. I helped with the development of toolkits and guides to teach photography in the university and to develop classes in schools and colleges as part of community projects. All the material is universally accessible. Also, under the supervision of Patricio Guerrero and Luis Garate, I coordinated the implementation of two open innovation programs to identify initiatives that positively contribute to public transportation problems in Cuenca, Ecuador.   In 2019, the BiciPública Cuenca project was implemented, the system distributes bicycles at strategic points in the city, offering a transport solution that contributes to the mobility of people in urban centers.Thanks to the fifth power that citizens can exercise voluntarily in Ecuador, our group accompanied the system's implementation process in Cuenca. Our objective was to analyze the implementation of the first shared bike project in Cuenca to anticipate possible shortcomings. The study was divided into three parts: a contractual and financial analysis, a technical analysis, and citizen perception analysis.At the end of the process, our group issued a report with recommendations to the Plenary of the Council for Citizen Participation and Social Control. The report was approved and recognized for its technical quality. Also, thanks to this, several positive aspects were implemented for the system: a) the elimination of the cash payment of the guarantee to register in the system, b) improvements in the registration process, c) the extension of the hours of operation of the system, d) the implementation of a membership called "pay per trip," e) the inclusion of citizens through a perception survey and f) help public and private companies to improve the dissemination of the project.Project's report: https://bit.ly/33evwV7 Mostrar menos

  The inaugural cohort of fellows focuses on understanding what Indianapolis residents want to experience in their public spaces. Fellows will research best practices from public spaces around the globe and design a plan for activating these public spaces, all while listening to the community’s needs and interests. Fellows also receive hands-on experience engaging with creative partners, neighborhoods, peer organizations, community stakeholders, and City departments.
