      The City of Urbana's Arts and Culture Program has, as its mission, to celebrate Urbana's artistic and cultural diversity. In this role, I managed the City of Urbana's Arts and Culture Program's various initiatives, including monthly exhibitions, sculpture and mural installation, public performances, an annual grant program, and a monthly television program. My accomplishments included tansitioning from Urbana Public Arts Program to Urbana Arts and Culture Program, emphasizing the inextricable relationship between arts and cultural work and the promotion of diversity, inclusion, and equity in the arts; introducing a variety of programs directed at serving historically underrepresented and underserved populations in our local arts community including: ​National Immigrant Welcoming Week​​ collaborations; disability in the arts programming, including the AARP-funded Growing Community Public Arts Initiative, which placed art and new amenities in community gardens in low-income neighborhoods. Further, I expanded the Urbana Arts Grant Program I managed; initiated the City of Urbana’s Poet Laureate Program and Youth Poet Laureate Programs; introduced Urbana’s Downtown Get Down, a diverse, major monthly summer festival and launched The Great ARTDoors in partnership with 40 North, Spurlock Museum, and Urbana and Champaign park districts. My tenure also included managing the program during the COVID-19 crisis through artist outreach and the development of virtual and hybrid programs. I successfully built partnerships and revenue resources through in-kind and monetary contributions and crafting successful grant proposals for state and federal agencies. Show less

As the Project Specialist, I provided administrative and marketing support for WGGP's general programming and played a key role in designing and implementing a marketing and engagement strategy for the Migration and Game Design Project, a year-long initiative funded in part through Title VI Funding.       Krannert Art Museum is the second largest general fine art museum in the state of Illinois, As the Assistant Director of Community Engagement and Learning, I oversee all museum events, public engagement, and educational programs. Directing Krannert Art Museum's education department, I manage program design, curriculum development, budgetary oversight, development, fundraising, and strategic planning. I serve on the museum's leadership team, facilitating policy decisions and museum-wide planning and supervise, hire, train, and support staff in the museum's education department. Moreover, I represent Krannert Art Museum on various local and national networks, including the Champaign County Museum Network, Champaign County African American Heritage Trail Committee, and the Big 10 Museum Educators Network. In my role, I facilitated the development of emerging programs designed for underserved populations, including BIPOC populations, people with dementia, neurodiverse populations, migrant families, and low-income neighborhoods.
