I have tried to understand the various kinds of risks banks are exposed to (particularly operational risk), and risk assessment, monitoring and control approaches adopted by institutions to counter these risks.My project included personal interviews with Regional Banking Operations Head, Chennai circle and Vice President, internal audit dept., South Zone of Axis Bank to understand about the process of internal audit of branches and internal operations control at circle level in detail.Also, I have made a questionnaire which assessed the perceptions of top-notch banking industry professionals on seven operational risk categories.The findings were quite interesting!!!
