      - Responsible for the efficient treatment of wastewater generated by the City of Lansing and the Lansing Correctional Facility.-Perform the recruitment, selection, supervision and evaluation of all divisional employees. Make recommendations to the Wastewater Utility Director regarding all department personnel action. -Plan, direct, and exercise general supervision over all divisional personnel.-Prepares work schedule for division.-Serves as acting liaison between the department and Kansas One Call and Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Department to ensure after hours emergency situations are received and handled in a timely manner. -Schedules and conducts training for divisional personnel. -Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish departmental objectives.-Prepare National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System reports for City and State.-Formulate and enforces rules and procedures for the divisions and department.-Prepare budget estimates, review employee credit card statements, process purchase requisitions and control expenditure of all divisional funds.-Write specifications and prepare bid documents, as required, for all equipment used within the department.-Review operating records and reports from each division.-Enforce appropriate safety procedures, precautions and the use of safety equipment.-Analyze information and data to make informative decisions and changes to plant process control operations. -Perform general public relations work with community programs.
