RESTORE-L Mission, responsible for 13 flight cameras used for rendezvous and proximity operations with client satellite and monitoring robotic arms during tele-operated re-fueling activities. Lead for flight camera receiving, environmental testing, integration, and testing. Develop and lead procedures from electronics safe-to-mate to functional imaging tests. Test, analyze, and integrate flight components for the ICESat-2 LIDAR telescope mission at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Design, fabrication, testing, and operational lead for proxy laser system that is used to align all of the mirror components on the optical bench. Use theodolites, lasers, and CCD cameras for precise alignment of subsystems and testing of performance. Work directly with technicians, systems engineers, scientists, safety, quality assurance, and managers. Product Development Lead for the Optical Development System Lab for the ATLAS instrument of the NASA ICESat-2 mission. Managed a lab and led a team to develop and integrate prototype components into an aligned system. The data and lessons learned from aligning prototype optics were directly applied to integration of the flight instrument that will be used for earth ice level monitoring in 2018. Managed the technology development for the alignment and bonding of thin glass x-ray mirror segments. Responded to shifting priorities by scientists with innovative solutions and rapid design iteration. Used hexapods, robotic arms, nanometer resolution linear actuators and picometer resolution displacement sensors.

    • FIRST Robotics Mentor across Australia

      Jan 2016 - Mar 2016
      Mentor

I was awarded the Australian Government Endeavour Executive Award Fellowship. This enabled me to take three months off of work to travel across Australia helping over 15 different high school FIRST Robotics Competition teams get up and running and create an impact on their community. Part of that was a 2.5 week 5,000+km road trip across the Australian Outback to mentor new teams in isolated communities or low social economic areas called Robots in the Outback. My overall trip encompassed 5 different Australian States (New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Queensland) and I directly mentored over 250 students. Show less

    • SpaceX

      May 2017 - Mar 2020
      Manufacturing Engineer II

Led manufacturing integration of two prototype satellites. Helped design factory stations for satellite manufacturing and integration from the ground up. Worked on manufacturing and testing of both components and full satellite integration as well as testing. Influenced design of a factory and helped support the build of over 300 satellites for Starlink worldwide high-speed internet.

      Manufacturing Engineer III

Lead final integration of the BE-4 engine including component assembly and installation. Review engineering designs for manufacturability, create work instructions, support builds in the factory. Lead checkouts (pneumatic, hydraulic, controller, dimensional) of completed engines before shipment. Lead Manufacturing Engineer for BE-4 Gimbal component manufacture and test. Support engine hot-fire tests at Texas facility.
