      Sept 2018 - now
      EMS Division Chief

As the EMS Division Chief, it was my responsibility to build an ALS transport system thanks to the overwhelming community support that helped us pass a mill levy in 2018. We transitioned from a BLS fire department to an ALS fire transport department on April 1, 2019. Within the EMS Division, I rolled out several project manager assignment roles, promotional positions, and committees amongst the line staff to help steer the division and promote a mindset that we is greater than I. As a side responsibility, I am the District's public information officer in which I communicate and interact with local and national media, write press releases, manage social media platforms, and create public awareness campaigns for educational public service announcements or emergency notifications. It was also my responsibility to build the EMS training division, write policies and procedures, hire paramedics, purchase and stock four ambulances, develop mutual aid agreements and oversee the EMS operation once inplace. I am also responsible for responding as a paramedic to provide care for sick and injured patients when needed and respond in a command role for large incidents. I also developed the active threat program in which we placed ballistic gear on all frontline apparatus, developed the active threat special operations procedure, ballistic gear policy, and developed and delivered classroom training. I am the Health and Safety Committee Chair and the District’s Public Information Officer in which I manage the social media platforms, write press releases, and interact with the media on news worthy large incidents. In addition I coordinate and perform public outreach regarding EMS related topics. In addition, I am our custodian of records and manage our records management system. We are a rural agency with 144 square miles of suburban, rural, industrial and commercial properties. We operate out of two full time staffed fire stations, one in Platteville and one in Gilcrest.
