Show less Project DescriptionPhase IV of Havelock City project consisted of the construction of two towers named ‘Peterson’ (Tower G) & ‘Edmonton’ (Tower H) of 32-storied height. Level 1 & 2 of these high-rise concrete towers are dedicated for common facilities while level 3 – 31 comprises of 332 dwelling units with 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms. In addition to these levels both towers have a water tank at level 32 and a basement level in tower G facilitating access to service rooms. The approximate plan area of this phase is 1,682 square meters and sums up to a total floor area of 52,454 square meters. Project Cost: LKR 6108 MillionMy Role as the Project Planning Engineer• Prepared required technical data for variation claims and Extension of Time (EOT) requests• Represented the project site in all written and oral communication• Prepared the construction master schedule and updated the actual project progress against the originally scheduled program every week and submitted for client’s review• Prepared technical specifications and schedules for all import material under the Civil scope and evaluated technical aspects of probable material suppliers• Prepared site proposals for the shoring system, excavation plan, de-watering system, etc.• Checked design drawings to identify structural design problems when integrating the structure with architectural and MEP details and proposing possible alternatives to solve the problem to the design team by raising design clarifications• Checked shop drawings completed by the draughtsperson, submitted for approval and issued certified shop drawings to site upon approval• Identified practical issues after discussing with site staff during frequent site visits, and proposed alternative solutions to the consultant and obtained approval• Identified the strengths and weaknesses of the drafting team and assigned tasks accordingly, to manage the team in a productive way Show less Project DescriptionOrchid Apartment II is a medium rise structure comprising of a ground floor with parking facilities, a service floor, entrance level with common facilities and 12 residential floors. The project consisted of the construction of two buildings: Apartment building and car park building, which is approximately 2.0 Acres in extent.The twelve storied Main building operates as the residential tower while the two storied separate car park building satisfies the parking facilities of residents and visitors. These buildings sums up to a total floor area of approximately 27,400 m2.The 14 story tower is supported on a pile and pile cap sub-structure. All columns, beams and slabs are conventional in-situ concrete members and bay windows are precast members while ACOTEC precast wall panels are used as interior partition walls.Project Cost: LKR 2015 MillionMy Role as the Project Planning Engineer• Checked design drawings to identify structural design problems when integrating the structure with architectural and MEP details and proposing possible alternatives to solve the problem to the design team by raising design clarifications.• Simplified design details and issuing to site in a more elaborative form through shop drawings and site instructions• Checked shop drawings completed by the draughtsperson, submitted for approval and issued certified shop drawings to site• Prepared the construction master schedule and updated the progress on monthly basis• Prepared quarterly, monthly, weekly programs for all activities and micro programs for special activities• Prepared documents required for ISO audits under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001• Submitted material applications• Prepared method statements for all major construction activities • Prepared proposals for temporary structures at site• Prepared site proposals for architectural details such as the swimming pool layout, entrance lobby finer details and external road and drainage arrangement Show less Project DescriptionOrchid Apartment 1 project at Malabe was a high rise Precast structure comprising of two basements, a ground floor and 11 residential floors. The twelve storied Main building operates as the residential tower while the two storied underground car park building satisfies the parking facilities of the residents and visitors. These buildings sums up to a total floor area of 11,600 square meters.The 12 story tower is the first precast midrise building in Sri Lanka. All columns, beams, bay windows, and bridge planks are precast members.
