My primary duties are to review all the evidence in a particular criminal case and decide whether or not to proceed with a criminal prosecution against a defendant. As a prosecutor, I have the responsibility to present the district’s case against an individual suspected of breaking the law, of initiating and directing any further criminal investigations, and guiding and recommending the sentencing of offenders to the court. ADA also can decide what criminal charges to bring, amend, or drop as well as to what a criminal defendant will answer to.
