      Featuring many great rides and attractions, a range of dining options and a swim-up bar, it is no wonder that Waterbom Bali is ranked as the #1 water park in Asia and #5 in the world.As a waitress and bartender, I was fortunate to be trained in the various dining options they offered, as well as work behind the famous pool bar. Working at the water park allowed me to display my bilingual skills in Indonesian and English, acquire knowledge on how to create tropical cocktails, and practice excellent customer service skills that only a Bali hospitality industry can provide.       A hidden Brisbane treasure, the MacArthur Museum is located on the eighth floor of the MacArthur Chambers Building - where the Queen Street Mall meets Edward Street. The museum archives the history of Australia, and features exhibits called: MacArthur the Man, Brisbane Goes to War, and Australians and Americans: Brisbane Wartime Stories.Regularly receiving large military affiliated groups, and school visits. The role of a volunteer museum guide was to communicate politely and be empathetic to visitors, show our passion and interest in sharing history, and assist the education officer or head museum guides with larger groups. As a volunteer, we were also asked to conduct research relating to the museum to feature in the monthly magazine published by the museum. Show less

      Pre-Service Teacher Placement: ARTIE Literacy and Numeracy Tutor

      The Former Origins Greats (FOGS) ARTIE (Achieving Results Through Indigenous Education) Academy is funded under the Queensland Government to assist to 'Close the Gap' in educational outcomes between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their non-Indigenous peers. It provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students attending Queensland State Primary and Secondary Schools within North Queensland, Central Queensland, Sunshine Coast, Caboolture, Ipswich and Logan regions, the opportunity to participate in a program that encourages and rewards improvements in school attendance, behaviour, academic achievement, effort and ultimately Year 12 attainment or its equivalent.Through ARTIE, I was assigned as a tutor to support Year 8 - Year 10 students with their literacy and numeracy classes at a state high school in the Logan region.
