  Project Researcher and Writer

  My key areas of focus were translating heaps of research to short stories that would be published on the Shujaa Stories blog, Google Arts and Culture page, exhibition mockups and merchandise. I was also involved in several research expeditions, the most recent one being in Lamu, Kenya. My adaptability and resilience were truly put to the test in this role. The research climate is very unpredictable and more often than not challenges such as communication barriers, difficult terrain and long journeys present themselves. I gained a lot from my time at Shujaa Stories but most of all, it fueled my drive to be a problem solver and to think quickly on my feet. Show less

  Construction Project Manager

  As a construction management intern at ZJCC Africa, I was exposed to quality management and health and safety protocols on a construction site. A typical day in the life included carrying out safety inspections and ensuring personnel were wearing personal protective equipment.In collaboration with the structural engineers on site, I was involved in the quality management of masonry and concrete works. I am proud to have performed quality checks on 195 openings in 88 Nairobi, where the internship was based. Show less

  My responsibilities included planning and scheduling content, client relationship management, sales, creating online ads and retailer visits.My greatest accomplishment is securing a major client by completely transforming their social media pages to reflect their brand colours, message and values. This was achieved through consistent communication, flexibility to make changes, team work and thorough research.
