      • Investigating steroid hormone preservation in proboscidean tooth and tusk dentin samples to reveal insights on musth histories, development, and behavior in woolly mammoths and American mastodons.• Utilized mini-CT visualization of tusk growth increments, planning of sample paths to approximate monthly growth, fine-scale serial sampling via micromilling to collect samples of tusks, and steroid analysis via liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS-MS) and isotope analysis.• Presenting at NAPC conference with 1000+ attendees on neonatal endocrinology of proboscideans by reconstructing growth records in juvenile tusks via sulfate steroid analysis.• Examining “paleoendocrinology” as it affects modern medical, anthropological, and forensic studies.
