      Civil Engineer

At DOWL, I was responsible for designing construction drawings for various aviation projects. Designs included both landside and airside airport terminal improvements, which consisted of determining layout, demolition, grades, and utilities for runways, taxiways, aprons, hardstands, roads, and sidewalks. I utilized AutoCAD Land Development Desktop to design proposed site surface grades, determine cut and fill quantities, and develop roadway and runway plans and profiles.I was also responsible for designing construction drawings for numerous building sites in villages located throughout Alaska. Tasks included layout of the site, grading, utility coordination, construction details, and site sections. I was accountable for the design of the road layout master plans for the villages of Gulkana, Noorvik, and Fort Yukon, Alaska. Responsibilities included layout of all roads, sidewalks, and drainage ditches in the villages.I was also in charge of compiling long term transportation plans (LRTP) for villages in Alaska. LRTP’s were designed to fulfill tribal goals by developing strategies to meet identified transportation needs.
