      Activities and Societies: President of the board of the Dutch United Nations Student Association, Amsterdam (Studentenvereniging voor Internationale Betrekkingen) For my PhD research I worked with teachers and students from 12 different schools. In the classrooms I took the role of teacher/researcher, implementing a controlled experiment aimed at improving the quality of student participation in CSCL, thus aiming to improve their learning outcomes. The students were of diverse backgrounds and the experimental intervention proved to be especially beneficial (in terms of learning outcomes) to minority students.

She’s an enthusiastic and independent researcher with a motivation to achieve. She is a person with good interpersonal skills and problem solving abilities. Her research work has already generated quite a number of high quality publications in refereed journals. Both her methodological and her theoretical knowledge are extensive. In the past five years she has build a valuable international network in Europe and the U.S.Fleur is a highly respected person in our department. Her contributions in our departmental meetings are constructive and highly valued by the whole staff.
