  International volunteer

  After highschool, I did a one year voluntary service at two radio stations in Togo. I was responsible for the midday news and I conducted several radio plays and broadcasts about scientific phenomena. I lived in an orphanage run by the NGO International Volontaire en Action (IVA). This is how I found my why to found an NGO in Germany to support the children from the orphanage. Having done this year in Togo enriched my perspective on the world and strengthened my dedication to give back and to empower. Show less

Since then we implement social projects in Togo together with the Togolese NGO International Volontaire en Action (IVA). We are particularly committed to gender equality through our social startup Lionne producing reusable sanitary pads and giving access to education about menstruation. We also give educational opportunities to children through the support of an orphanage. Furthermore, Woé zon loo e.V. contributes to international exchange and intercultural understanding in Germany and Togo.Goals: supporting the local partner association IVA in their projects, especiallysupporting their orphanage with 20 children to make education and a homeavailable to them, promoting international understanding through Instagram(@woezonloo_in_togo)Selection of successes: teambuilding - increasing active members of Woé zon loo to over 50 and establishing 8 teams that fundraise ~50.000€ in donations per year,providing the children’s rooms with furniture, equipping the kitchen and astudy room, providing health care, offering resusable sanitary pads to women Show less

  I am one of 8 scholarship holders who received the Engagement Scholarship by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation and McKinsey. I am developing and implementing a change process at an NGO in Togo with the goal to improve goal orientation, role and task clarity, collaboration with German partner NGO and to set up a road map to develop the pad project Lionne which I founded in 2019 into a real social business in Togo.
