An environment where lapse of knowledge and confidence in work could have led to severe consequence encouraged me to frequently consolidate my knowledge. Helping me to remain calm and composed in stressful situations, avoiding a negative outcome.

  Young Engineer Programme Intern

  After understanding the principles of flight through talks and discussions excellently presented by Andrew Perkins and Eoghen Sweeny, I was able to design and 3D print NACA 4-digit aerofoils, to then be tested in simulated low speed flight through the provision of a water tunnel. Aiming to achieve the greatest angle of attack without stalling. Experiences also included, disassembling and reassembling of an internal combustion engine with centrifugal clutch. Talks held by McLaren's fault analysis engineer, Ella Podmore, were invaluable for understanding the composition of some of McLaren's models on a material physics level. Show less
