There was some formula that calculated top sales nationwide based on store volume and area volume so the people in areas with lower dollar sales could participate evenly with those near company headquarters where the sales volumes were very high.I learned a lot dealing with the public on a daily basis and was able to formulate my ideas on "superior customer service" from this experience. My partner in the business is my wife Ruthie.We specialize in creating fast-loading web sites that are tailored to meet the needs of each individual customer. Some of the sites are HTML and CSS and some are WordPress websites.We also provide all of the photo editing for images on the site and usually wind up creating custom graphics or illustrations.We tend to attract the smaller businesses where we can spend time getting to know the business and figure out what solution the client really wants.   I was a staff Web Designer for hitchfinder.com (towing products) working on most of the 15+ e-commerce sites in many different roles along with a team of two other designers. My specialty was tying in all the back end data based code into a tight HTML and CSS framework on the front end.I also had heavy involvement in our eBay store listing with Turbo Lister and setting up all the options for ChannelAdvisor Merchant software.   I have a position at The University of Texas at Dallas as a Web Specialist. This is in the Web Services department, which is a part of the Office of Communications.I am in charge of the academic programs section of the website, which has 130+ academic degree programs to keep up with in multiple areas of the site. This is one of the most trafficked parts of the UT Dallas website. During the course of my day I do work for various departments updating webpages and graphics on the site. I am the full-time web person for the Chess team and the Debate team.I am administrator of the university's image library program, called WebDAM, which has over 100,000 images stored.I work on building stores for the university's e-commerce software, called marketplace, which brings in over $2.3 million yearly.I do a lot of work on HTML emails for the university, sometimes working on 5-10 at a time. Each one goes through a 7-step testing and approval process for quality control. I also build sites for university departments, schools and special centers. Sometimes these are HTML and CSS sites and sometimes they are CMS WordPress sites.During the course of my day doing web design, I use industry standard tools such as Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, InDesign, plus Mac specific tools like Transmit, SKEdit and others.
