Completed the Level 1-B Advanced Fundamentals Construction Storm Water & Erosion course. Outcome: Red card from the Georgia Soil & Water Conservation Commission confirming certification as a Level 1-B inspector in erosion control. Attended the Nuclear Workforce Development Day at the Kroc Center in Augusta, Georgia. Networked with professionals on current developments in nuclear energy and nuclear medicine.Internship experience concentration areas: construction storm water, state and federal environmental compliance, oversight monitoring, state inspections of land disturbance areas, data analysis.GPS coordinate mapping - Tracked and recorded exact coordinates for all chemical storage locations. The construction site is constantly changing and evolving as the project progresses toward completion - therefore, chemical storage locations on the site change. Upon project completion, these coordinate locations can be checked for any possible contamination. Oversight monitoring of liquid deliveries brought onto the site - I met the carrier company at the site gate and inspected the truck. I also reviewed all safety precautions and rules with the driver, and also mapped out the exact route that must be taken to the drop-off point. I then escorted the truck to the drop-off point, monitored the process, and escorted the truck back to the exit gate.Groundwater withdrawal monitoring - I monitored the quantities of water that were being used for on-site processes.Air quality monitoring - I monitored air emissions from large-scale equipment such as cranes.Construction storm water inspections - Using my red card from the state, I gained ability to perform inspections of NOI disturbance areas. The goal behind this program is to reuse the materials that are used to package the company's product sales. I reach out to clients around the nation and bring the materials back to reuse. This saves money for the company and reduces the company's impact on the environment. I promote new business development through reaching out to new companies around the country, explaining our program to them, and negotiating with them about joining onto the program. Maintaining excellent client relationships is a critical component of this program. I currently work with and manage 50+ clients while growing the program across the country.Conduct and manage sales of B-Grade product for the company ("B-Grade" being defined as product that is considered off-spec). I keep an active inventory of our B-Grade products stored in one of our warehouses, distribute an inventory list to clients, answer all questions they have concerning the products, assist in negotiating prices for the sales, and see the process through the end where the sale is shipped out to the client.Logistics Management - Conduct and manage all transportation methods used to receive and send the packaging materials nationally and globally. The goal is to be cost effective with this process. This often involves connecting pick ups and deliveries among numerous clients, and also utilizing all empty space with outbound deliveries. Serve as liaison for all transportation issues and decision making. Perform cost analysis on operations and make decisions on whether to continue current operations, negotiate costs, or start new methods of operation.
