  covering 3 MOD sites. I had dual responsibility for the security and administration of the Server Infrastructure. Role involved routine administration and updating of SMS, WSUS, EPO and the Reflex Deployment Server software packages, and Backup servers via Arc Serve Backups software; active use McAfee Antivirus, DOBUS and Disknet Pro to pre-empt and protect from threats including the recent Conficker Virus. I was also employed on Server/Computer maintenance and modelling via Symantec Ghost/SMS/Reflex. Show less

  Technical Support Engineer

  in a 2nd / 3rd Line support role. I surveyed, tested and overhauled the APC/HP UPS Devices on all servers and reconfigured the Powershute software. I continued to update SMS, WSUS, ePO and the Reflex Deployment Server software packages, and Vault Archiving/Backup servers. Additional responsibilities included setting up of User Accounts, E-mail (Via Exchange 5.5), Group Policy, file sharing and continued development of the network. During this contract I also gained an MCDST in XP and continued to develop my understanding and use of the ePolicy Orchestrator and Becrypt software. Show less

  Network Engineer and 2nd 3rd Line Support

  primarily as an IT Technician in a 3rd / 4th Line support environment, I support the IT Manager in numerous areas, including LDCN Support, Ash Forest and Exchange 5.5. The role also involves the administration, monitoring and daily running of approximately 900 Workstations and more than 20 Servers, whilst continually developing the Servers' Infrastructure. Additional responsibilities include responsibility for user accounts, E-mail, secure file sharing and development of the network. During this contract I gained an MCTS in Vista Enterprise and Consumer Support, completed the training to support LDCN Software and gained in depth experience in the use of bespoke remote software. I have just completed the PRINCE 2 course; and achieved Foundation Level and am waiting for results of the Practitioner exam. Show less
