    • Cognition and Cortical Dynamics Laboratory

      Mar 2014 - Dec 2015
Software Developer: Transcranial Magnetic Stimulator Safety GUI

I worked with Python and Tkinter to create a GUI that would be able to set safety features such as locking and power output for the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulator (TMS) that was being used in the CCDL's lab to send basic thought signals such as wrist motions into one (secondary) subject's brain, targeting a specific location, based on signals received from the electroencephalogram (EEG) readings from a primary subject's brain real time in a completely different building on the UW campus.Having these safety features enabled and easily usable was critical for the safety of test subjects to avoid overstimulation, which could, and had (prior to incorporation of the safety features) cause seizures and have other harmful long-term effects.I collaborated primarily with Dr. Andrea Stocco for this research. • North Wing LLC

      Apr 2017 - Aug 2017
Rigging Technician | Machinist | Wing Transport | Test Pilot

At North Wing, my primary job began as wire rigging, for hang glider and ultralight trike wings. I was also responsible for loading, setting up, and taking down these wings, and transporting them between the main manufacturing plant, the airport hangar, and other launch and landing sites as needed.Over the course of working through the spring and summer, my roles expanded to machining metal parts to FAA-specification precision, training to become a test pilot for ultralight wings, hand crafting battens to airfoil curves, and manufacturing wing frame parts. I was also involved in Research & Development, test launching and landing experimental hang glider models and creating reports on performance and usability. This was my dream job growing up in the sport of free flight, so it was a great experience and I learned many life lessons and technical skills and trades that I've taken with me and applied in every job since and will continue to apply wherever continue on to work. • Snohomish County Football Club

      Apr 2017 - Jun 2019
Assistant Coach | Team Manager | Soccer Player

When I saw that my home county was starting up a Semi-professional soccer team, I knew I had to help to get the project up an running, especially since the head coach was my technical trainer from my days in youth soccer in the area. After having not played soccer for a couple of years, I took one season filling in roles all over the field before my utility-player nature flowed over to off the field as a utility-coach. For the second season, while I was still playing, I helped lead tryouts, would regularly run fitness sessions and extra practices, act as a point of contact for other players, discuss lineups and tactical decisions with the head coach, video classroom training sessions and render supplemental material for them, and work on Graphic Design for the club's logo and other proprietaries in my spare time.In the second season, the Steelheads won its regional league and was able to advance in its third season to the Evergreen Premier League, while simultaneously branching out to create a Men's Indoor and Women's Outdoor and Indoor teams. My goal of helping the club through the growing pains of its first couple of seasons was accomplished and I was able to move on to other personal and professional passions, all while remaining a Steelheads Superfan and knowing that kids growing up playing soccer in Snohomish County like the ones I coached at Gala FC had something incredible to look up to for inspiration. • SEATTLE'S PERFORMERS, LLC

      Aug 2017 - Aug 2020
Director | Teacher | Afterschool Caregiver | Driver | Graphic Designer

At Seattle's Performers, I got the chance to work with kids of all ages, from toddlers to teens, teaching Musical Theatre through regular rehearsals, group games, and live on-stage performances at Jet City Improv's theater in Seattle's U-District. During rehearsal, we would work on singing, dancing, and acting, focusing on scenes from the respective musical to be performed. For dress rehearsals and performances, we would tech the sound and lighting using Jet City's equipment and booth.Outside of rehearsal and performances, I would work on writing and editing scripts, driving student after-school pick-ups, Graphic Design for logo updating and rebranding, audio track editing, and attending meetings with fellow Teaching Artists about quarter- and summer-planning.During the pandemic, we were able to pivot to Zoom rehearsals and performances initially, and then socially-distanced film musicals in the park during the summer, for which I got the chance to video/audio edit the raw footage we would film of the students performing during summer camp weeks into full movie musicals. • GALA FC

Assistant Technical Director | Board Member | Lead Technical Trainer | Head Coach

At Gala FC, I worked in multiple roles to ensure the growth and prosperity of the soccer club and its players. Starting as a head coach for a U15 boys team, I was able to use my passion for soccer to take on more teams, lead club training sessions that the Technical Director was not able to attend, and train individual players and small groups on specific soccer skills.Off the field, I worked as a Web Designer organizing club, team, and coach information, as a Graphic Designer publishing awards and refining logos and emblems, as a Team Manager performing outreach to tournaments, leagues, and other teams, as a Recruiter systematically searching out and finding high-percentage environments for recruits for all ages and genders and following up with families, and as a Board Member helping to administrate the clubs day-to-day tasks and execute its long-term goals. • Play It Again Sports - Lynnwood, WA

      Oct 2017 - Jul 2023
Database Engineer | Rental Manager | Lead Ski Technician | Bicycle Technician | Sales Associate

I started as a ski and snowboard technician at Play It Again Sports in Lynnwood, WA, and ever since having started, have seen the potential for a database to keep track of the hundreds of pieces of winter sports equipment. From this simple idea, I've forged my own role as Database Engineer and Manager, interfacing between digital and hard-copy inventory logs and the physical equipment and its in-season and off-season storage.Using the data we've collected from inventorying and rental sales. I've created forecasts for how many rentals we could expect for a certain size of ski or snowboard boot, to give a few examples. Using this derived information, I created an extension of the database for how many pieces of equipment we would need to order. After compiling a separate database of both mountain resorts in the Western Region and other local rental shops within Washington State, I spearheaded an outreach campaign to secure the least expensive second-hand equipment at bulk quantity to supplement our own equipment in anticipation of another record-breaking winter season. Our inventory addition efforts over the years have boosted our inventory counts from the hundreds to the thousands, and the main rental database continues to offer keen insights as to the current and future needs of the rental fleet.
