      My first official project was to go to a government institution; understand what the department was about, the vision, strategy, and most importantly the challenges. From the list of challenges gathered, I had to pick one problem, propose a solution that was going to be viable, efficient, and quick to implement. The problem I chose was around the management of incidents, i.e., cases logged by the public regarding services offered by the department. Cases were managed on an excel spreadsheet or a notebook. And often these cases would either be lost or untraceable. The process was a nightmare and exceedingly difficult to manage or do proper reporting on.I: • Recommended a centralised Case Management System (CMS) which would allow the department to have a single view of the cases logged.• Wrote a Business Case highlighting the value and benefits the department would realize in investing and implementing an online and centralised Case Management System.• Documented the As-Is processes and To-Be processes in MS Visio.With my recommendation, the department was able to not only record the incidents in a centralized repository, but track and trace the cases as well as implement Service Level Agreements and standardised feedback processes to the complainants.       I was part of a project team contracted to one of the government departments to review their Business Processes and Systems; and advise on what must done to be efficient and productive. We had to follow the TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) 9 and GWEA (Government Wide Enterprise Architecture) Methodologies in delivering the project. • Facilitated requirements gathering sessions with all business stakeholders.• Analysed the As-Is processes, did the gap analysis and documented the To-Be processes which would be standardised across all provincial departments in that ministry.• Contributed to the overall Master Systems Plan Document detailing proposed process and system changes (both tactical and strategic changes). • The tactical process changes were projected to increase the overall efficiency of the department by at least 30% by simply removing redundant and inefficient processes and replacing them with streamlined and effective processes that were easy to follow with minimal red tape.• However, overhauling the legacy systems and re-engineering all the procurement, maintenance, and event management processes would add a further 41% increase in efficiencies with the ability to integrate to other systems and introduce more functions.       I was a business analyst consultant contracted to Vodacom, one of the biggest telecommunications companies in South Africa. I worked on several projects which were firsts in the market and one of those projects contributed massively to:• Overall group clients increase of 7.2% to 61.1 million in 2013/4.• Retail (individual) contract clients increased by 2.5% to 4.9 million with increased in-bundle spend of 64.6%. This equated to revenue increase of R77332 Million in group sales from talk time, data and SMS/MMS bundles.• On that project, I gathered, documented (BRD), and presented the requirements to the development team.• Defined the process models in Ms Visio and wrote the supporting procedure documents.• Prepared test scenarios and performed UAT and postproduction support.       I worked on numerous projects at Standard Bank, ABSA Capital (CIB), Absa Agribusiness as well as internal initiatives at IQ Business. e.g.• I led a 30+ million-rand project that redefined Absa as a market leader in the agriculture space. Absa now has over 30% market share of credit facilities offered to farmers (with minimal risk) banked in South Africa. This is a bank book worth billions of rands.• It was the first system with geospatial/landscape layouts of farms, soil analysis and potential yield (crop estimates) capabilities imbedded in the application in Southern Africa. • It replaced an excel workbook, SharePoint site and outlook process which were inefficient. • It had online and offline functionality to allow the valuators, bankers and Agri specialists the ability to still capture the necessary information at the farms (even in poor network coverage areas), store the data in the local/memory of the device in use to only upload once there was a stable network connection.• Successfully delivered this project in about 16 months.• Some of the artefacts I produced were the Business Requirements Document (BRD) and System Design Document (SDD).• Documented and managed the requirements backlog on Confluence and Jira for the offshore team (German based development team).• Documented the As-Is and To-Be processes on MS Visio, PPSG and iServer.• Prepared the bi-weekly steering committee deck.• Reviewed BRDs, test scenarios and test cases defined by the junior analysts in the team (4 analysts).       I am part of a team that is implementing and supporting the adoption of Salesforce at ABSA South Africa with plans of rolling out the capability to the Rest of Africa operations. Salesforce was identified as the strategic Sales and Customer Onboarding Platform to be used bank-wide with the goal being to provide streamlined and seamless customer and user experience across the different segments.The project:• A multi-million rand project set to deliver capabilities and efficiencies that will enhance the lead and sales processes.• Help reduce customer and product onboarding applications from 30+ to less than 10. • The functionality delivered so far have already reduced the average customer + transactional product onboarding time from 3hrs to less than 30 minutes.• This project has contributed to the 2021 overall group financial results that are significantly better than in 2020 and is continuing to do so as more capabilities are being rolled out.My role on the project is to:• Manage the enhancement requests process.• Lead a fast-paced delivery team of 11 Specialist Salesforce Engineers.• Facilitate Major Incident Meetings (MIM) for high impact or high value production incidents to ensure that thorough root cause analysis, solutioning and implementation of the necessary changes is done as quickly and effectively as possible to minimize disruption to service.• Run other projects in the production stabilisation team. • Sit in the architecture review meetings that reviews functionality to be developed, what is already in production and recommend best practices.
