  Teach for the Philippines

  In my role with the Policy and Legislation Unit of Senator Bam Aquino's office, I contributed to key policy research supporting legislative initiatives and assisted in drafting Senate bills and resolutions, ensuring their readiness for filing. I managed stakeholder communications for public hearings, coordinated updates on legislative progress during hearings and technical working groups, and represented the unit in agency meetings, delivering insights and updates to advance our legislative agenda. Show less I taught English and Social Studies to 5th graders at Numancia Central Elementary School in Del Carmen, Siargao, while also mentoring student journalists who advanced to the regional schools press conference. In addition to classroom instruction, I led and facilitated teacher training sessions at both the school and district levels. I co-facilitated a community project aimed at empowering youth through theater and personal development workshops. I also spearheaded the implementation of Coca-Cola FEMSA’s Coordinates for Life life skills program for parents and students. Furthermore, I co-led the ground administration for the pilot study for Teach for the Philippines’ fellowship program, collaborating with MIT’s Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab to evaluate the program’s impact at our school.   Prepared House bills, resolutions, and policy statements for a congressperson, monitored legislative measures, and provided updates to the principal. I also coordinated the principal’s schedule for meetings and sessions, assisted in preparing briefing materials, press releases, and district project budgets, and compiled project summaries after the national appropriation's approval. Additionally, co-led the Balik 1st District Program, which supported nearly 300 locally stranded individuals in Mega Manila during the COVID-19 pandemic. Show less

  Chief, Cooperative Development Section/Development Management Officer (July 2024–Present) and former Project Development Officer (Sept. 2022–June 2024), with expertise in cooperative development for the City Government’s Small Business and Cooperatives Development Office. I lead initiatives for cooperative registration, capability building, and events (e.g., trade fairs, job fairs), and foster partnerships with organizations such as the Cooperative Development Authority, Quezon City Cooperative Development Council, and Quezon City Union of Cooperatives, among others. Key tasks include annual budgeting, procurement planning, inter-department collaboration, and support for citywide projects on child labor, public safety, and economic empowerment. Show less
