  Summer Intern

  Summer intern at the school of engineering developing a testbed for an open-source CNC hot-wire aerofoil cutter. The two-month project was self-led and lent to expanding on the following skills:CAD & Manufacture: modelling parts in Autodesk Fusion 360, 3D printing and assembling. This also included applying the engineering design cycle.Python: Programs for compiling and interpreting Gcode were written in python. Notable libraries used were pandas for data manipulation and pyserial for use of the USB protocol in communicating between devices.C++: The CNC Hotwire was controlled via stepper motors from an Arduino running C++ code.Electronics & Circuitry: Circuits were tested on solderless breadboard.
