  Was offered work as a plasterer/damp proofer which led to being promoted to Chargehand, working with two teams consisting of two plasterers and two labourers in each on various contracts from Berwick to Hull, ensuring the teams were in the right place with the right materials, kit and equipment. Often liaising with the client direct and reporting to senior management.

  Whilst working as a Self Employed/Sub Contract Plasterer I gained work through various agencies and contracts throughout the North East, the most notable of which was working for Eshott Homes on the renovation of Hartford Hall which was a renovation of a Stately home and Listed building which lasted roughly nine months.

  As an assistant site manager my duties included but weren't restricted to; the day to day running of a site or sites, the organisation of labour/manpower, ensuring materials etc. were ordered and delivered prior to their requirement date/time. Liaising with members of the public, client(s), senior management and also council officials and councillors. Ensuring project/scheme completion dates which were set by the client/local council etc. were met and completed and to a high standard. Ensuring site personnel and visitors (including clients) adhered to company health and safety policies and company procedures at all times. Collected and checked time sheets in every week to ensure accurate and prompt payment for all members of the site team. I was involved in filling out Accident reports/books, incident reports, carrying out risk assessments and method statements and also involved in the implementation of safe systems of work and also heavily involved in the issue and use of work permits. I was also personally responsible for the Handover/Inspection of work and ensuring it was finished to a high standard before it was inspected by the clients clerk of works. Show less As a plasterer I worked on various contracts around the north east of England, often entering people's property to plaster or tile full kitchens and bathrooms to a very high standard. It was my job to leave a smooth, clean and professional finish ready for decorating/ a clean tiled splash back area around work surfaces etc. I was also responsible for ensuring that my work area was left in a clean and in a safe manner as often the place I was working in was someone's workplace or home and there may have been children present.
