  I joined L'Oreal as a long term contractor to manage the L'Oreal Logistics function while permanent resources had been seconded to the L'Oreal SAP project. I was tasked to consider and propose changes to create an Integrated L'Oreal Supply Chain function managing all aspects of the order to cash cycle. In February 2012 I was appointed to South African L'Oreal Executive Management Committee as the Operations Director. In my last four years at L'Oreal I have lead the following changes: • Reorganized the L'Oreal logistics function by splitting the planning function into demand planning and supply planning• SAP R3 Sponsor for the L'Oreal SAP implementation which went live in April 2011, including SAP MM, SD and WMS modules.• In March 2012 the existing L'Oreal logistics function was restructured into one multi-divisional Supply Chain function with its own management committee including divisional supply chain managers, customer service, supply and demand planning, physical distribution, supply chain shared services (SAP key user support, EHS, quality and co-packing) and credit management.• Commissioned and implemented a demand planning system in Oct 2012.• Established and chaired the L'Oreal EHS committee. L'Oreal was certified as ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 for safety and environmental management in March 2013.• Managed a dramatic improvement in supply chain operational focus with clear targets by customer channel for service, cost and working capital. Projects completed included customer supply chain scorecards; changes to flow, equipment and organization of the physical distribution function ultimately leading to the consolidation of two physical distribution facilities in one multi-divisional physical distribution operation; completion of transport sourcing for outbound and inbound deliveries and packaging added value projects.• Leveraging the South African operational infrastructure to support L'Oreal expansion into Sub Saharan Africa.
