      Business Development Officer

Lifeskills Solutions are a privately owned training provider delivering Apprenticeships, Traineeships and study programmes. The company are based across Basildon, Rotherham, Leads, Sheffield and Lowestoft. My role at Lifeskills as a Business Development Officer in the Apprenticeships & Traineeship team gave me the responsibility of engaging businesses to recruit apprentices across Essex & London.I set up a database of businesses from scratch to allow me to account manage clients, build new business and keep on top of my work load. This proved very useful in ensuring I was meeting the companies needs and requirements and ultimately providing the best possible service. This often resulted in repeat business from satisfied employers.A key aspect of my role was to visit clients and a gain a thorough understanding of their business and recruitment needs in order to match their vacancy correctly. I carried out the full 360 process of advertising a vacancy and identifying their ideal candidate. On the candidate front, I would interview, assess and induct the learners, ensuring they are placed on the correct level course, designed to suit their ability. In addition I worked with learners to make sure they are ready for work and supported through their important first weeks in the workplace.Additional responsibilities included; promoting and marketing programmes attending careers conventions and business networking events. I linked up with several schools, careers advisors and organisations dealing with 16-24 year olds to give up to date and accurate information, advise and guidance to young people. . Show less
