CSC created thecore software application for the NASC to support the protection of German airspace. This Solution, QBOP (Quarterback Operations Portal), has already tracked and managed manylairspace incidents. QBOP made its debut during the FIFA World Cup in Germany in June2006 and is fielded an working 24/7 since today.QBOP is an event-driven Solution that responds to airspace incidents as they unfold. It is aplatform for collaborative information and knowledge management across three governmentinstitutions. Because operators tracking aircraft must evaluate and correctly assess a livesituation in 20-30 minutes, having dynamic information at their fingertips is paramount. To accomplish this, QBOP:••Manages a wealth of information including critical upcoming events, current weather onairfields, and data about aircraft owners and airline contacts••Enables operators to enter, monitor and evaluate event details••Handles geographic information••Shares information with officials on mobile devices in the field and forwards information toback-end systems of other agencies••Provides secure documentation of user interaction during incidentsThe CSC team built an enterprise architecture using the NATO C3 System ArchitectureFramework (called NAF). This NAF framework is mandatory for the design of military command and control systems for the German government.Since airspace policing is highly confidential, and IT support for this arena is fairly new, the team tackled uncharted ground. This project has generated interest from other European government agencies. The techniquesand methodology used can also be applied to command and control activities or disastermanagement. Weniger anzeigen
